Description Christ on pedestal base, 50 cm

This crucifix on a pedestal is the same as the wall crucifix CRUX9 plus this base that allows you to put this crucifix on a table or any piece of furniture. This crucifix on foot can quite serve as a liturgical object to adorn an altar or oratory.
The many photos associated with this product allow to appreciate the beauty of this religious object. Christ is represented asleep in the sleep of death in expectation of his resurrection which will take place on the third day after his death. In anticipation of this resurrection, his soul, always united with the deity, descended to hell (or limbo) to visit the souls of the just and to announce to them that the Redemption took place.
While contemplating a crucifix, we must never forget this word of Saint Paul: the cross is a folly for the pagans and a scandal for the Jews. We are used to the crucifix, but we must not forget that at the time of Christ crucifixion was an ignominy reserved for slaves and bandits. To be neither scandalized by the cross nor considered crucifixion as madness, we must bear on the cross a look of faith and remember that it was out of love for his Father and out of love for us that Jesus voluntarily agreed to die on the cross for our salvation. To save us, God could very well have done otherwise, but, according to St. Thomas Aquinas, Christ wanted to redeem us by death on the cross for three reasons:
- to show us the greatness of his love for us: to accept such an ignominious torment with suffering brought to paroxysm presupposes an infinite love;
- to make us aware of the seriousness of sin: it is because of our sins that Christ has gone to his passion, and as the Catechism of the Catholic Church says, the sins of bad Christians crucify Christ every day;
- give us an example and encourage us to carry our cross every day for our sanctification and the salvation of souls.
